Summary:The aim of this study is to re-assess green IT capability in organization of Malaysian public sector. This study is related to previous study done by MAMPU which shows organizations are 70.76% compliance with ICT Usage Guidelines toward Green ICT in Public Service but the study do not measure green IT capability. Therefore, this study was conducted to achieve three objectives. The first objective is identifying green IT capability in Malaysian public sector. Second, to determine the component of green IT capabilities dimension and third objective is to establish green IT capability baseline. Self-administered questionnaire had been carried out to achieve the study objectives. Target population for this research is organizations in Public Service which comply with ICT Usage Guidelines toward Green ICT. Descriptive statistics are used to describe data in a study. There are five dimensions of green IT capability which is policy, governance, practice, attitude and technology. The overall green IT capability baseline for Malaysian public sector is low. The most significant finding is the relative lack of green IT capability on policies and governance.
