The study was conducted at Hospital Duchess of Kent which located in Sandakan district of Sabah. It is a public facility that provides healthcare services to the public. The first objective is to assess the compliancy level of healthcare personnel regarding medical waste management. The second objective is to assess the knowledge and awareness level of the personnel regarding medical waste management. The third objective is to identify whether there is a correlation between compliancy level with knowledge and awareness level. The samples of this study are the healthcare personnel that involves directly in the management of medical waste. The sample size used in this research is 80 respondents and is chosen using stratified sampling. The unit of analysis of this study is in the form of individuals. This research is a cross-sectional survey which is a descriptive study. The primary data is obtained from questionnaires and observation and the secondary data is obtained from other research and studies. The findings show that the awareness, knowledge and compliance level is high in the hospital.
