CAD/CAM systems This final project is a continuation from last semester Final Year Project. Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) can be defined as the use of Computer Systems and Automation Systems to operate and control production. This definition splits production into two separate activities: the lnformation Processing performed by Computer Systems and the Physical Activities performed by Automation Systems. lnformation Processing tasks include: the design of components; planning the production of the components; controlling the operations in production and performing various business related functions necessary for a Manufacturing Establishment. The Physical Activities are performed by a wide range of devices, often automatically controlled, including; Machine Tools, Assembly Stations, Robots, Material Transfer Systems, Automated Material Handling and Storage Systems and Inspection Systems for Quality Control. For this project, a questionnaire was distributed to the related company. The purpose of the questionnaire is to define the level of CIM implementation in Peninsular Malaysia. It is defined that the companies were still not fully implemented the CIM elements. An industrial visit had been organized to the company that has the highest implementation of CIM elements. 2004 Thesis NonPeerReviewed text en https://ir.uitm.edu.my/id/eprint/76921/1/76921.pdf An overview of the CIM implementation / Mohd Zaidi Zawawi.
