Summary: | Sustainability in Art’ workshop from Contemporary Metal Design program were conducted by two of their lecturers, who are Dr. Hanif Khairi and Mr. Abdul Hakkam Hafiz Abdain, with the help from three students. The main activity in this workshop is to demonstrate the idea of upcycling throw away plastics, specifically plastic bottle caps and turn it into artwork or craft product. The upcycling activity started before the actual workshop had begun, where through a brief request by the Waste Not Want Not team, a series of collecting and sorting of waste plastic (plastic bottle caps) had been done. With the accumulation of colourful plastic bottle caps, the team had prepared the tools and equipment for the upcycling processes, which technically used heat and pressure to create the craft products or artworks. |
