Summary:This paper introduce a simple procedure for obtaining estimate of the concentration parameter of the von Mises distribution for the circular functional relationship model. The estimation of parameters for this model assume the ratio of the error concentration parameter is known and the available method can only be applied when the ratio is equal to one or when we have an equal error concentration parameter. This new proposed procedure is based on the asymptotic power series of the modified Basel function of the first kind and order zero and it is shown that it can be applied for any value of the ratio of the error concentration parameter.
