The specimen was subjected to high temperature oxidation in a box furnace in flowing air gas. The oxidation test was performed between temperatures of 300°C until 600°C. From this investigation, oxidation weight change measurement showed that the breakaway oxidation was occurred at 500°C after 40 hours exposure. It shows that at 500°C, the welded alloy failed to form the protective oxide layer and suffered rapid breakaway oxidation.
