It is the alternative of source to generate the tanker ship engine, commonly the engine is generating based on oil fuel. Thus, this project is to build one alternate source using hybrid power system, where the whole ship will not depend on the oil fuel anymore. The scope of this project is under the subject renewable energy (BPB 44304), which been taught in the university. The study of this project will provide the opportunity for students to apply and integrate theoretical knowledge based on principles that been taught in the course. Based on this study, theoretically the renewable energy usually produce small amount of electricity and that make them less efficient. In order to logically realize the project the combination of three renewable energies will produce higher amount of electricity. So, the scenario chosen in this case is tanker ship. First, it is because tanker ship has large surface area which is possible to place a lot of solar panel. Second, at the lower part of the ship we could place turbine engine against sea waves. Last but not least, wind turbine can be placed as third resource of generation on electricity and this is because the winds are hard to predict. By combine the sources it theoretically could generate the engine and if it succeeds it will change a direction of renewable energy use. The hybrid energy system is design to provide fully operated engine using greener resource. The prototype of this tanker ship will be place with solar panel at the top of it in order to absorb as much solar energy as it can. At back of the prototype model the sea-waves generator is installed, it will be dc generator connected to mechanical parts which use to convert sea wave energy to electricity. Finally, wind turbine will be placed at the side of the tanker as the final source of energy. This is because wind energy is difficult to predict. This shows that the hybrid system can be used to supply the output power more efficient. Thus, the hybrid system also can be used to back up the supply when one of the sources is not function. Example, when the solar did not function at night, the other two sources can supply the power output to the user. Other than that, the hybrid generator is more stable compared to single sources and can be reliable to produce electricity. Furthermore, the rechargeable battery can act as back up supply to the system if the three sources do not function. So that, the output voltage and current that produce from the hybrid system can be used to charge the rechargeable battery in connection with solar charge controller. 2015-03-09T13:31:46Z 2015-03-09T13:31:46Z 2015-03-09 http://localhost/xmlui/handle/123456789/9441 en
