Mobile node Mobile IPv6 Mobile IP Network Fast handover Link to publisher's homepage at http://www.myiem.org.my/ Mobile IP is standard protocol to support mobility for today and future networks, although it suffers from handoff delay when a mobile node changes its point of attachment in the network. This delay might cause packet loss resulting interruption for various types of applications especially real-time applications. In this research, we conducted a performance evaluation of Mobile IPv6 and fast handover to investigate the parameters of mobile node in both protocols during handover.
