A study had been carried out to investigate the effects of the nozzle injector geometry to the mixture efficiency and also the combustion of gasoline in engine that uses direct injection technology. The investigation was conducted using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software to examine the spray pattern. Seven nozzle geometries were used in this study, each with three different diameters. The parameters that have been explored are the depth of penetration and spray cone angle and mass flow averaged of the fuel being injected into the combustion chamber. Comparison was then made for each nozzle to see the effects of the parameters investigated on the spray characteristics.
