Communication system for use by a rider of power sports equipment having enables the rider to control the operating characteristics, such as the operating mode, of a microphone-including arrangement of a two-way radio or public address (PA) equipment while the rider maintains his grip about the handlebars of the power sports equipment for operation thereof. Furthermore, the communication system does not involve any connecting wires which may otherwise extend between any components of the system which are carried by the rider and any components of the system which are carried by the power sports equipment. The basic step to design the Wireless Control of Helmet-Mounted Communication Equipment is defining the problem and finds the system specification. Then the initial system design will trade-offs into two designs. First design is preliminary hardware design and the second design is preliminary software design. After finished designing hardware and software design, then the hardware and software design will be modify and trade-offs into build prototype and write the software. The prototype was build using Vero-board and the assembly language is used to program the software. Lastly, hardware and software will be combined before the final system. This project is to develop wireless control of helmet-mounted communications equipment using wireless radio frequency and also integrate wireless communication between transmitter and receiver using microcontroller. Based on the objectives of the project the overall concept study for this project, studies the use of RF in wireless communications system. Study the concept of microcontroller and also studies how the characteristic voice signal transmits using a wireless RF. 2008-11-24T02:55:24Z 2008-11-24T02:55:24Z 2007-04 Learning Object http://hdl.handle.net/123456789/3301 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis School of Computer and Communication Engineering
