As a major manufacturer of palm oil in the world, one of the great challenges facing is the disposal of the waste product from the palm oil mill. These waste products will lead to environmental hazards that contribute to contaminate land, water and air, finally will pollute the earth. To overcome this problem, several efforts have been made to utilise these wastes in beneficial usage. For example, this research used palm oil clinker (POC) as a fine aggregates in a mortar mixture. There are several tests to determine the properties of mortar strength such as workability test, water absorption test and compression test. There are 5 different percentage replacement of POC that carried out 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. From the result obtain, a same value in compressive strength and decrease in water absorption at 25% of percentage replacement of POC as a fine aggregates in mortar mixture that is 21.64 MPa. An increase in compressive strength at soak mixing procedure method was noticed in ranges 10.63 MPa to 21.63 MPa at 28 days for each percentage of POC replacement. Compare to the standard type of masonry mortar used in construction, partially sample were pass the min value of compressive strength. The replacement of 25% of POC in mortar with a soak mixing procedure can be used to increase the strength and improve durability in plain mortar. 2015-03-24T03:56:16Z 2015-03-24T03:56:16Z 2013-06 Learning Object http://dspace.unimap.edu.my:80/xmlui/handle/123456789/39293 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) School of Environmental Engineering
