This project is about research on the analysis of strength on the thick plate part (thickness of the part is more than 3mm) using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The objective of this project is to improve the mechanical strength of the thick plate part from the significant parameter by using RSM. To find the significant factor for this research, the previous journal from other researcher were reviewed and has been conclude that melt temperature and mould temperature were the significant factor. Therefore, to run analysis using simulation, Moldflow Analysis Insight (AMI) 2013 was used and by using thick plate part mould design in 3D, three analysis which is fill, fill + pack and cool (FEM) analysis were conducted. From the simulation analysis, the suitable parameter setting is obtained and were applied to the injection moulding machine for production of experiment parts. Four parameters were considered for variable parameters which were mould temperature, melt temperature, packing pressure and packing time. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to optimise the tensile strength on the thick plate part by using RSM. It was found that the most significant factor that influenced the tensile strength on the thick plate part was melt temperature and the tensile strength of the thick plate part was improved by 5.52% after the optimisation. 2021-02-25T06:35:40Z 2021-02-25T06:35:40Z 2016-06 Learning Object http://dspace.unimap.edu.my:80/xmlui/handle/123456789/69923 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP)
