Summary: | Program Pembangunan Rakyat Termiskin (PPRT) is an action plan that is poverty eradication oriented. Although it is impossible to eliminate poverty, at least the ratio of poverty can be minimized. Thus, the main objective of this study is to investigate the level of Iban community participation in aquaculture project under PPRT at kampung Panjai Ruai, Sri Aman. The objectives of the study were to identify the socio-economic characteristics of the respondents and their participation in the project as well as to determine the problems faced by the participants. Questionnaires as well as interviews were used to collect the data. A total of 60 respondents, including eight (8) participants were included in the sample. Findings of the study indicate that there was no significance between the respondent's education level and their level of participation in the aquaculture project under PPRT. T-test shows that there is a significant relationship between the men and women respondents in the level of participation. Findings from the study also show financial problems that a project participant faced does not influence his/her level of participation in the aquaculture project. It can be concluded that the respondents' perception of the project is positive. |
