Antimicrobial Properties of Annona muricata, Archidendron jiringa and Artocarpus Hybrid (Nanchem) against Crop Pathegenic Fungi and Bacteria.

Adverse effects of synthetic fungicide usage towards environment and human have become an issue nowadays. Plant biochemical compound as an alternative product to substitute or minimize the usage of synthetic fungicide has attracted interest of many scientists in developing Biofungicides. Three pla...

Abdul Raffar, Abdul Razak S Agriculture (General) SB Plant culture Adverse effects of synthetic fungicide usage towards environment and human have become an issue nowadays. Plant biochemical compound as an alternative product to substitute or minimize the usage of synthetic fungicide has attracted interest of many scientists in developing Biofungicides. Three plant species are used in this study Annona muricata, Archidendron jiringa and Artocarpus Hybrid (Nanchem) against crop pathogenic fungi and bacteria provided from ARC. 100% methanol was used as a solvent to extract biochemical constituent of selected plant species use in this study. Different concentrations of the methanol crude extracts were used in inhibition test of fungi and bacteria growth. The results from A. muricata, A. jiringa and Nanchem leaves showed retardation on mycelia growth of Fusarium sp. (W) and only A. muricata showed a retardation effect on mycelia growth of Fusarium sp. (P). All concentrations used in this study from selected plant species did not show inhibition growth of Erwinia sp.
