Summary: | This study focused on comparing different mist net configuration - Aluminium Telescoping Pole Net (ATPN) which is four mist nets stacked up vertically and Regular Pole Net (RPN) which is four mist nets connected horizontally. The study was conducted in Stass Nature Heritage Park (SNHP, secondary forest), Dered Krian National Park (DKNP, limestone forest), Bratak Oil Palm Estate (BOPE, oil palm plantation) and younger Bratak Oil Palm Estate (BOPE(Y), young oil palm plantation). ATPN captured 50 individuals with 47 species, while RPN has captured 104 individuals with 67 species. Based on this, RPN has showed higher capture rate of individual and species than ATPN, which indicates higher efficiency of RPN. Sampling in SNHP captured 45 individual with 11 species, 39 individual with 18 species in DKNP, 18 individual with 5 species in BOPE and 43 individual with 16 species in BOPE(Y). DKNP has the highest score of Shannon and Simpson's diversity index while BOPE has the lowest score, which means avifauna diversity is greatest in DKNP and lowest in BOPE. |
