This study was conducted to determine the antimicrobial activity of crude extract using broth micro-dilution method against four foodborne pathogens that are L. monocytogen, B. cereus, V. cholerae and E. coli O157:H7. Besides, the Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria were found to be resistance to antibiotics. The present study showed the potential antimicrobial activity Annona muricata against all tested bacteria. The Annona muricata crude extract showed the highest antimicrobial activity against B. cereus with MIC values 4000 µg/mL followed by E. coli 1000 µg/mL, L. monocytogenes 125 µg/mL and '. cholerae >4000 g/mL. The result obtained in the present study suggests that Annona muricata has potential to be used as an alternative for current antibiotics.
