Description
Summary:Cyclophoridae is one of the most common family of operculated terrestrial snails in East Asia. The current study is focused on a species from the the genus Japonia specifically Japonia barbata. Besides, there is also lack of studies on the shell variation of a species in different population. Shell characters of Japonia barbata were determined based on their shell measurements. Different populations of Japonia barbata were examined and the correlation of measured characters were determined among different populations. Also, the shell measurements of Japonia barbata vs Japonia bauensis are compared based on the study of Mr Effendi’s paper. The samples were collected at various location in Sarawak by Mr. Effendi, and a total of 114 semi-adults to adults shell of Japonia barbata are examined. The results were plotted by using R Studio. We found that the characters of Japonia barbata and Japonia bauensis there were highly overlapping.
