Sim Power System toolbox was used for thorough designing differential relay and fault simulation. The differential relay that is designed in the study is used to detect the faults in the different type of bus bar configuration in the distribution system. In this respect, the principles of Kirchhoff's law are introduced initially. This paper presents the modelling of numerical relay based on Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for current measuring elements. Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) has been used for the designing of the proposed differential relay for reliable performance and acquired primary current signals which is close to the secondary current signals of the current transformer (CT).
