my.uniten.dspace-320262024-05-05T02:01:36Z Development of rogowski coil for measuring impulse current Nagaraja Rupan Panneerchelvan Electric currents Electric coils TK7878.4.N33 2019 Firstly, there were many kinds of current transducers that were in usage in industry Unfortunately, all the current transducer unable to fulfil the requirement of an ordinary current transducer such as providing accurate and lincar result, measuring wide bandwidth with high frequency signals, lightweight design and non-saturated device. In order to overcome this problem, this project was carried out to fulfil the requirements of an ordinary current transducer such as lightweight design, non-saturated device, measuring wide bandwidth with high frequency and providing accurate and linear results. The project was divided into 2 categories, software and hardware. In software, a simulation has been done for the circuit of the impulse generators and for the Rogowski Coil with Non-Inverting Active Integrator. In hardware, the components such as resistors, capacitor, inductors, wires, enamel copper wire, hose pipe, operational amplifier were used to construct the impulse generator, Rogowski Coil and Non- Inverting Active Integrator. The selected impulse to be construct is lightning impulse voltage which able to generate 1.2/50us open circuit impulse and lightning impulse current which able to generate 8/20μs short-circuit impulse. The impulse generator and Rogowski Coil output signal were captured using the oscilloscope. A comparison of the impulse graph from the impulse generator based on simulation and experimental will be done. Next, a comparison of the experimental impulse graph from impulse generator and Rogowski Coil will be done. At the end of the project, Rogowski Coil with Non- inverting Active Integrator should produce an impulse graph which is similar with the impulse graph generated from the impulse generator. The experimental result obtained by the impulse generator is quite similar with the simulation result which has been simulated through MATLAB Simulink. Those results are within the tolerance of +20%.
