This research is to study the mechanical properties of Mg- MWCNTs composites and analyse the microstructure. The fabrication process of Mg- MWCNTs composites involves mixing of magnesium and MWCNTs, compacting the mixed powder and heating the compact in controlled environment or sintering. The Mg- MWCNTs then will go through density and porosity test, Vickers Hardness test and bending test to study the mechanical properties of the Mg-MWCNTs composites. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), optical microscope, and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) was used to analyse the molecular structure of the Mg-MWCNTs composites. The mechanical properties obtained in this research are greater than the monolithic Mg. The microstructure analysis shows no agglomeration of MWCNTs.
