my.uniten.dspace-329032024-07-28T02:01:47Z Dynamic performance of rainfall tipping bucket Kesavan Mohandas Rain and rainfall Runoff QC925.5.K47 2013 Rainfall measurement of the precipitation is one of the important event take place that needed to determine the intensity of the rain in a particular area. Dynamic performance of rainfall tipping bucket is solely about the error that exists when we record down the number of tippings under certain circumstances i.e for low, and high intense rain. The Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge is a standard precision sensor used to measure rainfall volume and/or rate of tipping per minute and per hour. The ability of the rain gauge is to measure the amount of rainfall at a single point. A gauge (or set of gauges) has influence over an area and the amount of rain having been recorded at a particular gauge (or set of gauges) is assigned to an area. The accuracy of rainfall intensity measurements obtained from tipping-bucket and other types of rain gauges, and their compared performance, is a topical issue in hydrology and meteorology. In this research, there are four types of rain gauge commonly use rain gauge tipping bucket were tested on their dynamic performance of rainfall tipping bucket in the lab using calibration technique. It was found that there are errors for low and high intensity. For low intensity it was found that error less that 2% is acceptable. As for high intensity, it was found that a non-linear relationship exist and this behaviour, has not been accounted for in Malaysia. What has been practice is only for low range of rainfall intensity, which is producing linear relationship between number of tipping versus rainfall intensity. 1=aAb 2024-07-23T04:09:29Z 2024-07-23T04:09:29Z 2013 Resource Types::text::Final Year Project https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/32903 en application/pdf |
