Funded by the Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM) with the collaboration with Q-cells Malaysia, UNITEN has recently has installed a new solar carport. With the total power of 17kWp, the solar panels have been installed at the roof-top of the car park. The solar carport is grid-connected. The solar carport was aimed to be used to charge electrical vehicles (EV), which the number expected to increase in near future. The solar carport is grid-connected which means the energy can flow both ways. When there is a need, the energy can flow from the grid to the carport. One the other hand, the energy also can flow to the grid. The income or the revenue will come directly from two sources namely as Feed in Tariff (FIT) and charging tariff. The Feed in Tariff is the tariff that is paid by the government to the operators. Another one is the charging tariff. This is the tariff that is applied to the EV car that comes to charge their vehicle at the system. The question arises, what is the tariff applicable for the charging carport? The decision must be made so that the solar carport doesn't become a burden to the parties involved. This thesis presents on the research and studies on what is the suitable tariff need to be implemented. Besides, what can be made so that mutual benefit can be reached between the solar carport operators and the Electric Vehicle (EV) users. In this study, the suggestions for improvement are also included.
