Description
Summary:Knowledge related to ICT will be transfered to member of National Council of Senior Citizens Organizations Malaysia (NACSCOM) in Subang Jaya and Damansara Jaya. Focus group discussion and training need assessment has been conducted to gain information on ICT learning needs among NACSCOM member to develop suitable ICT training module for older persons. The knowledge transfer program will involve training of trainers and targeted groups on knowledge and usage of ICT and its application. The participants are interested to learn about the internet, web browsing, emailing, basic use of Microsoft Office and computer applications. This training program will enable NACSCOM to save up to 30% of the cost needed to conduct the ICT class in their centers. The saving is for tutor fees as their members are trained to be the trainers. It is also anticipated that the number of NASCOM members participating in the ICT class will increase to about 20%. The participants will gain knowledge and skills through lifelong learning to face technological advancement in later life, societal inclusion, networking and can contribute their knowledge for the benefits of society. This is in line with the National Policy of Older Persons that encourage active and productive aging and the 10th Malaysian Plan that promote Digital Inclusive Society by 2020.
