Description
Summary:Patient specific 3D computational model of diseased human nasal cavity was developed for pre and post-operative. The three-dimensional computational domain was constructed by CT scan images obtained from a subject having septum deviation, turbinate hypertrophy and concha bullosa. Inhalation rates of 7.5 L/min corresponding to low or moderate activity was simulated numerically through the nasal passage. The airflow characteristics was analyzed. Results show that the nasal surgery increased nasal cross section area and volume, which influenced flow partitioning and distribution through the nasal passage.
