Abstract: Halal food according to Islam’s principles as a core feature to determine the level of faith that is highly considered based on the Islamic Rule (Syariat). A lot of beneficial effect addressed when practicing halal foods. The findings from related studies show that Islam is really clear about the importance of halal foods toward physical and cognitive development as mentioned in al-Quran and Sunnah. The negligence of certain individual towards halal food witnessed some problematic effects such as concentrating in studying, fatigue, irritability, and learning disorder that became the primary factors driving of social problems. Few related studies proved there is a significant relationship between the selected of halal food and psychological health. Through a typical diet, it was proven beneficial to cardiovascular problems, inflammatory and chronic diseases, stress, mood disorders, anger, lack of motivation, inappropriate social behavior, low cognitive performance and low memory. Therefore, it is crucial to stick on the Islamic perspective especially in practicing halal foods as a sign of worship and obedience to the creators. Undoubtedly, practicing of the non-halal food would affect human development towards worship, morals, health, mind and psychology. Pemilihan makanan halal adalah salah satu daripada prinsip-prinsip yang ditetapkan oleh Islam untuk menentukan tahap iman dan ia juga adalah suatu perbuatan mentaati perintah Allah. Kepentingan makanan halal bagi manusia yang paling utama adalah makanan itu adalah makanan yang terbaik baginya. Terdapat banyak kelebihan dalam mengamalkan cara pemakanan yang halal. Hasil pemakanan yang halal, fizikal seseorang itu akan lebih cergas, sihat dan kehidupannya lebih terjamin.Kajian juga telah menunjukkan bahawa pemakanan yang baik bukan sahaja menyumbang kepada pembangunan fizikal, tetapi juga memberi kesan kepada perkembangan kognitif. Pengambilan makanan yang tidak sihat boleh mempunyai masalah menumpukan perhatian, mudah menjadi letih, cepat marah dan mungkin menghadapi kesukaran dalam pembelajaran, yang boleh membawa kepada masalah tingkah laku dan sosial. Kajian juga membuktikan hubungan yang signifikan antara jenis makanan yang dipilih dan kesihatan psikologi. Tipikal diet bukan sahaja secara langsung berkaitan dengan masalah kardiovaskular, penyakit radang dan kronik, tetapi ia juga berkaitan secara langsung dengan tekanan, gangguan mood, cepat marah, kurang motivasi, tingkah laku sosial yang tidak sesuai, prestasi kognitif rendah dan daya ingatan yang lemah. Panduan yang sesuai dengan ajaran Islam seperti makan makanan halal mesti dipatuhi untuk memberikan kekuatan menjalankan ibadah dan ketaatan. Pengambilan makanan tidak halal pasti menjejaskan pembangunan manusia pada ibadah, akhlak, kesihatan, akal dan psikologi.
