Establishment and characterisation of local clonal Eimeria tenella populations

Eimeria is an obligate intracellular parasite which invades the intestinal tract of fowl and causes coccidiosis. There are seven known species of avian Eimeria: E. acervulina, E. brunetti, E. maxima, E. mitis, E. necatrix, E. praecox and E. tenella (Williams, 1996).
