This mini review provides concise information on recent advances in pyrolysis, focusing on using waste, specifically agricultural residues and plastic waste, as resources. Next, discussion is made on pyrolysis of biomass and plastic waste, respectively, followed by co-pyrolysis of biomass and plastic waste. Catalytic co-pyrolysis, including zeolite catalysts and metal-modified HZSM-5 is then reviewed. Finally, the future perspective of this research is discussed.
