Description
Summary:This paper presents a comparative accuracy of Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) derived from the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) images and the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission Global 1 (SRTMGL1) included with the PALSAR Radiometrically Terrain Corrected (RTC) products. The accuracy of DEMs is computed with respect to the Global Positioning System (GPS) field survey. Based on the assessments over 134 locations, the accuracy of UAV-derived DEM is more reliable than those of the SRTMGL1 included with the PALSAR RTC products with the root mean square error (RMSE) of 4.0 meters for SRTMGL1 and 0.5 for UAV-derived DEM.
