Concentration and velocity measurement of flowing object using optical and ultrasonic tomography

A simple way to estimate the velocity is to measure the time taken for a floating object to travel a measured distance downstream. The velocity is not the same at all places in the stream, being slower at the sides and bottom, and faster on the surface.
