Knowledge is the most crucial component for competitiveness. The ability to generate new knowledge and transfer it to the development of new products and services is seen as a critical process. Parallel, a large body of theoretical and empirical research has suggested an importance of significant phenomenon where organizations can create and sustain competitive advantages through initiation of appropriate knowledge management processes. Knowledge creation is one of the core processes of knowledge management. This paper discussed the process of knowledge creation with reference to higher education institution. It used Nonaka and Takeuchi’s (1995) model of knowledge creation as a theoretical framework to guide the research. The contribution of this paper is the application of SECI model to a creative chaos environment. Higher Education Institution is continuously facing the challenges of complexity and urgency in their core business activities such as the changes in technologies and demand of the stakeholders.
