Corrosion is an electro chemical process where it converts metal into various compounds that usually have much less mechanical and chemical resistance than the metal which disintegrates so that the object is destroyed. Marine pipelines are severely exposed to corrosive environment such as seawater salinity and marine growth effect which in later stage can trigger corrosion on the external surface.
