Summary:This descriptive research was conducted to identify the perception of trainees at Merlimau Polytechnic, Malacca towards National Dual Training System (NDTS). Perception that wants to observe is divided to several parts which is technical competencies, social competencies, social values and learning methodological competencies. The researcher also wants to identify if there is relationship between trainees’ perception with their gender and educational background. Research instrument used was a questionnaire form that contains two parts which is Part A (trainees’ background) and Part B (44 items). 5 level Likert scale also used for data collection. Questionnaire forms were distributed to 40 trainees at Merlimau Polytechnic. The information gathered then analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 17.0 in order to obtain the mean value, frequency and percentages. From the result obtained, average mean value shows that the perception of trainees of Merlimau Polytechnic towards NDTS is 4.18 which is in high level.
