Summary: | This note look at the peristaltic flow of a Power Law fluid through a non-uniform inclined cylindrical tube. In the cylindrical coordinates, a two dimensional mathematical model is formulated.Under the long wavelength and small Reynolds number approximations, the governing equations have been linearized. Exact solutions for the stream function, the axial pressure gradient, and the axial velocity have been obtained. Effects of various interesting parameters on the flow characteristics have been graphically interpreted. A comparative study for the viscous, shear thinning and shear thickening fluids has been presented. Comparisons with published results for limiting case are found in good agreement. |
