Classification of seaport: a review of container terminal

Recently, competitiveness among the container port is clearly shown with ever increasing containerization as well the number of container terminals raised up proportionally. So that, improving port operation and providing an appropriate basis for future port planning is crucial for port performance. This paper aims in reviewing container terminal efficiency and productivity with related methodology. The strategy of this paper divides by classifying container terminal resources and determining applicable measurement techniques. It is critical as certain country has to rely on container terminal as main sea trade. The paper views to measuring efficiency and productivity technique of container terminals. Increasing demand in containerization has triggered the study to be conducted since Malaysia also acts as maritime nation.
