Summary:A pattern for evaluating higher education using quality methods has been established in most of the world. Quality assurance has been adopted as one of the quality methods to evaluate the performance of higher education and to assure the quality at optimal level. However, managing quality assurance activities is a challenging one because it is involved a large amount of knowledge and various levels of stakeholders. Therefore, in this study discuss the design of information system in managing academic quality assurance in higher education. Metamodelling approach adapted from Othman and Beydoun is used to design the information system. This approach uses various models abstraction of a domain as a primary source of artefact development. Twenty models are used in this study to develop a metamodel that will be used to design the information system. The architecture of the academic quality assurance management information system is shown for future system development.
