Nevertheless, the method for such faith understanding has since changed with the emergence of Muslim traditionists (Ahl al- Hadith) who have transmitted those traditions of the Prophet of Islam. There have been traditions that personified the attributes of God, such as, that God possesses hands, legs, face, etc. This work is a literary descriptive survey that utilizes the comparative method. A number of early Muslim figures like Abu al-Hasan al- Asy'ari, Ibn Khuzaymah, al-Daruqutni, Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, and al-Suyuti, are some examples of those surveyed in this article. The research outcome reveals the lack of care and meticulousness in understanding the language of the Qur'an, as well as extreme tendencies indulging in the literal understanding of Qur'anic verses concerning the attributes of God are some of the reasons for the spread of such theological position among certain theologians and that they turned out to be simply representatives of themselves and not representatives of the schools of thoughts that they might be part of.
