With recent advance of GPS technology, structure monitoring can be conducted using modern RTK technique namely VRS-RTK. VRS-RTK is a virtual nonexisting station created from a real observation of a multiple reference station network. The launched of Malaysia Real Time Kinematic GPS network (MyRTKnet) by Department Survey and Mapping Malaysia makes VRS-RTK technique available. This paper firstly focuses on the principle of VRS-RTK technique in structural monitoring.
