One of the key strategies of the current study is to analyse how students transform their ideas from abstract to physical form through the conceptualisation process within the studio learning environment. Two aspects were considered (1) the factors that influence the student's actions in designing, and (2) the role of critique in stimulating the student's conceptual design towards final design stage. Evidences were gathered from students' dynamic cognitive interactions with knowledge and experience as transpired through the studio environment.
