Description
Summary:LiDAR is an active microwave sensor that measures accurate range and position of the observed target. It is useful to estimate the individual tree canopy. Watershed segmentation is one of the methods being used in delineating the tree crown from the Raster LiDAR image. This study assessed the accuracy of watershed segmentation method on the acquired LiDAR data over Bukit Hitam Forest Reserve in Limbang, Sarawak. It was found that tree crown extraction accuracy is about ±4.6 meter radius and the tree height of ±2.5 meter. Some suggestions are provided to improve such accuracy in the near future.
