Description
Summary:This study is aimed to improve stability of the railway vehicle. To provide good ride stability in railway vehicle, the vibration and unwanted motions from the wheelsets should be reduced. The mathematical model of 4-DOF railway vehicle is governed. The model consists of a bogie and two wheelsets, connected with primary suspension. In this study, the unwanted movement of vehicle bogie is controlled by using skyhook control. The vehicle is tested under random track irregularity. The results show that the bogie-based skyhook control can reduce about 50 % the vibration level of railway vehicle bogie and at the same time will increase the performance of stability.
