Summary: | High school curriculum consists of many subjects that need for students to learn and to understand the concepts. Some of the concepts can be easily understood and the rest may be too abstract for students to understand even with the help of teachers. one of the closely related subjects is chemistry. Chemistry subject incorporate many abstract topics, the difficulties of chemistry topics are their abstract nature and words from the everyday language with different meanings. For that reason, many instructional methods have been developed to accommodate the teaching and learning session to accommodate students in having a better understanding of the subject they need to learn. This study was conducted to construct one teaching and learning module to overcome the abstract nature of chemistry in the chemical bonding chapter which is Dub Chem Vid Module. Dub Chem Vid Module is a module that was created to teach students about chemistry subject chemical bonding. The title indicates that the module's activity is related to action on dubbing the video related to the chemistry lesson. The module was developed using project-based learning (PBL) as the instructional method to teach students about chemical bonding topics and clarify the difference between ionic and covalent bonds. The result showed that Dub Chem Vid Module was valid with validation score of 75.48 for quality of content, 79.72 for effectiveness of module, and 75 for overall satisfaction of module. |
