Characterization of Nickel Zinc Based Ferrite for Electromagnetic Source

The nitrates of nickel, zinc and iron with purity of about 99.99% with nitric acid 65% as a solvent were used to fabricate Ni1-XZnXFe2O4 (where x=0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5) employing sol-gel technique. X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX...

Description
Summary:The nitrates of nickel, zinc and iron with purity of about 99.99% with nitric acid 65% as a solvent were used to fabricate Ni1-XZnXFe2O4 (where x=0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5) employing sol-gel technique. X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX) analysis were carried out to identify and determine the best crystal structure. The XRD analysis showed major peak at plane (3 1 1) of the cubic structure for all the ferrites. SEM images in agreement with XRD analysis show that Ni0.6Zn0.4Fe2O4 is the most high quality and well-crystalline sample with uniform grain size distribution of the size of 200nm, a suitable material for the development of the vertical magnetic dipole.
