Summary:International students have diverse needs when undertaking education in foreign countires. It is in the interest of both international students and the host institution to ensure these students achieve success in their studies. A quantitative methodology, using principles of uncertainty reduction theory was used for the study. The purpose of this study was to investigate the problems of Indonesian students during process of adaptation in Univeraiti Utara Malaysia. During the process of adaptation, found that Indonesian students faced with various problems such as in academic, social, and personal lifes that may affected to their academic performance. Information was gathered by self-report survey questionnaire. A modified version of Cross Cultural Adaptation Scale (Kuo & Roysicar, 2006) and (Shenay, 2000) were used. The sample consisted of 108 undergraduate Indonesian students in College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). The most important result showed that problems in academic, social, and personal lifes were related to a common of experience difficulties and a lower level of Indonesian students to enrich their academic successfull.
