Summary: | Tourism is now one of the world's largest industry and an industry that continues to grow and have an important role in contributing to a country's economy.Along with the continuous development, there are countless business opportunities available, especially for small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) to cater for the need of the tourists. They offer new concepts by highlighting certain perspective, creativity and innovation as the process of production of goods and services by using a certain technology or other initiatives. An entrepreneur as individual may take advantage of opportunities to create change and many has proven the ability to survive in times of crisis and has huge potential to grow even.However, it is unfortunate that the capabilities of entrepreneurs of SMEs in the study area have not been significant.On the other hand, in the tourism sector, the numbers of tourist arrivals continue to increase from year to year.This should be construed as an opportunity for SME entrepreneurs.Thus, this has become the aim of this study to seek through the influence of knowledge, attitude and behavior of the entrepreneur seeking to identify opportunities in the tourism sectors.This descriptive study is based on the analysis of primary data solicited by using questionnaire, and secondary data were obtained especially from BPS data, the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, and review of the literature. This analysis tends to conclude that in general SMEs in Banten are potentially competitive. |
