Summary: | Safety commitment and safety performance have been widely discussed in previous studies. These elements had been found related to safety
management practices at the workplace. This study was conducted to assess the paddy farmers safety commitments for improving safety practices and
always performing the job safety and are healthy. This study involved 745 registered farmers with the Department of Agriculture in Peninsular
Malaysia. The study applied the guided questionnaire and the result has shown all hypotheses had significant relationship towards safety initiatives. It was proven that safety commitment has stronger relationship with safety
initiatives over safety management practices. Whereas as mediator, the safety commitment also has significant impact between safety management
practices and safety initiatives. Therefore, the safety commitment among farmers should be identified before designing a suitable safety program to encourage them to improve their attitude and proactive measures towards safety. |
