The implementation and adoption of appropriate cybersecurity are challenging and knowledge-intensive and require the participation and support of policymakers and IT units. However, although awareness of critical success factors (CSF) for cybersecurity implementation is very beneficial in avoiding failure in Smart City projects, this area has rarely been researched, especially with a focus on Smart City development. Therefore, the contribution of this paper to research and practice is the identification of critical factors that influence the successful implementation of cybersecurity in smart cities. This study was carried out through an interview study with officials and staff in the Jakarta Smart City environment.
