Description
Summary:At the end of a visit, tourists generally make some forms of evaluation about their visit experience. Hence, in order for tourists to return home with memorable experience, the destination must ensure that they had a wonderful time during their visit. It is expected that tourist experience will be influenced by a number of components. This paper aims to provide theoretical evidence on tourist visit assessment process. Applying desk analysis through an in-depth review of literatures, this paper will ultimately suggest a framework for assessing visit experience. The findings suggest that the components that are vital for a post visit assessment are destination attributes performance, perceived value and satisfaction. It is recommended that destination managers or stakeholders and researchers utilise these components when assessing tourist visit experience in order to capture an overall scenario of the visit. The results would be beneficial to various stakeholders such as the local agencies and tourism and hospitality businesses in order to understand and enrich tourist visit experience in the future.
