The literature showed that franchising has received relatively limited theoretical as well as empirical attention from social science scientist as an imperative area o f study. Based on the researchers own literature review of past studies, this paper attempts to provide an insight into franchising - specfically focusing on the process to franchising a business model and purchasing a franchise including identrhing the contributing factors to the success and failure of franchise business models that have yet to be explored rigorously - that could be benefited by prospective franchisors, franchisees, future researchers, and government agencies.
