Description
Summary:A good requirements model encourages communication between the business and IT by enabling them to share a common vision of the system’s solution prior to implementation. This will ensure that the system meets the user needs, can be delivered on time, and have the level of quality and flexibility to easily accommodate future business needs. It is essential to establish correct requirements and specifications early in the development process to prevent errors later on in the system life cycle. Badly managed requirements analysis could compromise the project's success, due to delays or even cancellation of the project. This paper attempts to produce a requirement model for Printing Management System (PMS) using Unified Modeling Language notation as a guideline for developing the PMS. The methodology from requirements analysis phase of systems analysis of Whitten et al.(2001) were adopted which consists of three main phase; define requirements, analyze requirements and validate the requirement model. The requirement model consists of use case diagram, use case descriptions, sequence diagrams, collaboration diagrams and activity diagrams and also a set of requirement list were produced. In addition, a prototype was developed for validating the user requirements.
