Description
Summary:The ISG Smart Card Centre was officially established in 2002 as a result of theFounders’ shared and long held vision for a specialist Centre of Excellence, to com-plement the world leading work of the Information Security Group (ISG). A Centre that would work in close co-operation with a cross section of industry and govern-ment, addressing a broad field of endeavour, including smart cards, tokens, RFIDs, security and applications. From its humble beginnings the Centre has grown rapidly and is now a thriving, well established and properly equipped unit. In parallel with this, the interest and demand for smart card training and research has been ever increasing, as evident from the many post-graduate students who have chosen theSmart Card Centre teaching module and projects. To find reference texts to cover the full breadth of this teaching has so far proved impossible and so this textbook should make a valuable addition to the published work. The Founders are proud tobe associated with this book and hope it serves to educate and inspire readers around the world.
